In this, the final episode of Two Artsy Gals (sorry… I guess that kindof give away what the big announcement is), Katie and Loni talk about some of the things they have always wanted to do an episode on, but haven’t been able to for one reason or another. The Gals cover Zentangle, Zines, Soldering, and Soft Sculpture with all the goofy sidebars you have come to expect. Plus, you will learn about what The Gals have in the works for you next!

I am typing this with a bit of a heavy heart, which is weird because I didn’t feel too sad the day we recorded this episode. This is Katie btw… I usually write this blog in third person because I like to sound like I have a big fancy staff (even though you all know it is me writing anyway). I guess publishing the final episode and writing the final blog post makes it all real enough to get the sads.
I don’t have a lot to say about the episode. We tried to talk about some of the things we haven’t been able to do episodes about but have always wanted to. There are tons of things we wanted to share with you all but I feel like Two Artsy Gals has run its course and I want to end it on a good note rather than just dragging it out until we start losing listeners because quality has gone so far downhill.
I explain the reason for ending the show in more detail in the episode but what I don’t feel I did convincingly enough was thank all of you and tell you what all of you, and doing this show have meant to me. This show has brought so many unexpected and wonderful things to my life and the biggest is our listeners. Super Listener Lois, Kealy The Awesome, and all of you who don’t have a title/name that quietly listen each week have become a part of me. You are friends I talk to each week and sharing with you has become something very important to me. Thank you all for you support and the fun throughout the last 3 1/2 years. You are all amazing and I look forward to connecting with you in new and exciting way with our upcoming podcast, “Welcome to Your Midlife Crisis”, after the first of the year.
I also want to take a moment to thank Sharon Rowland for making this show possible. When I called her up and said, “Hey, I want to do this thing and I don’t know what I am doing but I think it will be fun. Want to be my Co-host?” she didn’t even hesitate to jump in with both feet. Thank you for believing in me and for being a part of this adventure. You helped build the foundation and hone the format for this show and I couldn’t have done it without you.
And of course I want to thank Loni Lane. I don’t even know where to start… We have spent the last 2 1/2 years laughing and crying together. What started as to buddies doing a fun podcast together has give me one of my closest friends and for that I am the most thankful. Thank you for being brave when you felt nervous and for saying yes when I asked you to take Sharon’s place as my co-host. I love you and I am so excited about our new adventures in podcasting!
I am getting sappy so I am going to wrap this up but I want to assure that Two Artsy Gals content will always be available. For the first few months it will remain on iTunes for you to listen to as you want to and once it has all been transferred over to YouTube. Once the videos on YouTube are up I will replace the links on each episode here on the website before taking Two Artsy Gals off iTunes. This website will always be here. The Facebook page, Twitter, and Instagram for the show will go away after the new show starts but the Two Artsy Gals Facebook group will remain a place for the community we have build to stay in touch and share ideas. If you would like to come join us please do so here.
Before I go, here are a couple treats from this episode that really needed visuals.
Thank you again to all of you artsy fucking listeners! We couldn’t have done this show without you and we hope you will all follow is on to our next adventure. Never stop making cool shit, yo!
