This week Katie and Loni face their fears of matting and framing art DIY style! We all know it is expensive to have done but we also know that most art just looks better when properly matted and framed. So how can we afford to display out art the way it deserves to be displayed? We can get over our fear of mat cutting and do it ourselves!

Katie talked about a few tools you will need when matting and framing your art… click on the image of the angled mat cutter below to see the tools she prefers (there are other brands out there but Logan does seem to be the go-to brand and the most widely available).

Here are a couple of good tutorial videos for you to watch. The first is for using the compact mat cutter that Katie owns and used for her examples below. The second is for the angled mat cutter used free standing.

And this is how they look now! Katie was in a hurry and could have used a bit more practice but wanted to finish these for the show. She is going to redo them and get nicer corners now that she knows what she is doing.
