Happy New Year everyone! The Gals kick of 2016 with an episode about our creative spaces. When we planned this episode it was intended to focus on organization, which The Gals do talk about, but because our creative spaces are so personal it ended up being about much more than cool ways to store your shit. Not going to lie, Katie and Loni were still feeling a bit sappy after seeing Patti Smith in concert earlier in the week and it spills over into this episode. Don’t worry though… there is plenty of their special brand of inappropriate humor and good information to counteract their sappy pep-talks.

This is a picture heavy post so we are just going to get straight to it. The Gals start off by talking about their own creative spaces and despite initially being horrified at the idea; both Katie and Loni took pictures of their studios as they were rather than cleaning things up for you (think post holiday crafting insanity).

This is where Katie sews; creates all of her art, makes examples for the podcast, records and writes for the podcast, and does a little graphic design work.

The baskets on the top shelf are full of patterns and the bottom shelf holds her tools, notions, and threads.

In this wider view you can see the “library” section of her studio that is the divider between the sewing and art areas of her studio.

GAH! This is the very messy arts and crafts side of her studio.

The desk she uses to do all of her arts and crafts, and where Loni and Katie work when making examples for the show. The spaces under the desk hold paper and canvases, and a few tools.

This is the closet where Katie keeps the bulk of her art supplies and tools.

There are more art supplies and papers in this cabinet she uses for her printer.

And this is the small “office” area of the studio (directly across from the arts and crafts area), where The Gals record the show and Katie does all of her computer work.
Loni sent us some pictures of her studio too! She has some cute stuff in there!

This is her work table where she does messy stuff.

And here are her closet storage shelves.

This is Loni’s sewing area with additional storage to the right of the sewing desk.
Keeley The Awesome sent us some great pictures of her Library/creative space and we are green with envy over here! It looks HUGE!

This is the picture she sent us after the granny square episode that we got so excited about. That prompted Keeley to send some images she felt were a bit more honest about the state of her creative space.

Look at all those books!

More books! And the person on the floor that made Katie and Loni laugh so hard.

This storage area looks nicely organized.

Keeley’s desk makes Katie and Loni not feel so bad about their desks 🙂
Super Listener Lois sent us pictures of her “bare ass” basement studio where she comfortably works and doesn’t worry about making messes.

We love it! And this we especially love that painting in progress back there, Lois!

A close up of her storage containers… clear containers is where it is at, people!

And here is the cool paint storage idea she shared with us. Those are water bottle caps!
Lois’s friend Linda Ruben was gracious enough to send us some images of her beautiful garage studio and some of her work. We are so envious of the space! And those cool blue lockers she has in the corner.
Thank you for sharing with us Keeley, Lois, and Linda! We loved looking at the pictures of your wonderful studios! We hope you liked seeing our chaotic works spaces too.
