The Gals talk about metal leaf this week and as much as they love shiny/sparkly things we can’t believe they haven’t talked about this sooner! Brace yourselves for some crazy and lengthy side bars because this is the first time Katie and Loni had been able to hang out together in a couple of weeks. Despite all the silliness you will learn about different types of metal leaf (gold and alloys), brushes, and how to apply metal leaf to your awesome projects.
Go look at that pretty Pintrest board for this episode here.
The Gals completely forgot this episode comes out on Easter Weekend so they neglected to talk about how awesome gold/metal leaf would be on Easter Eggs! Check this awesome tutorial from the Little Inspiration blog by clicking the image of these gorgeous eggs they made!
Because it is Easter Weekend, and we forgot it is Easter Weekend until late last night and we now have a lot of last minute shit to get done so we can go do festivities and shit with our families, this is going to be short and sweet today!
By short and sweet we mean we are going to give you this list of places you can get supplies with our comments on them and then we are rushing off to the store to buy a bunch of eggs… and maybe some gold leaf because those leafed eggs are seriously adorable!
Katie prefers Speedball’s Mona Lisa line of metal leafing products because they are easily accessed at most craft stores and they are affordable. They list all of their products with tons of explanation on their site… this is very helpful. http://www.speedballart.com/our-products.php?cat=18#Adhesives
