Episode 23: Cutty Stabby Fun Time

Check out the Pintrest board for this episode here!

This week Katie and Sharon started with cautionary tales right off the bat! It wouldn’t be an Episode of Two Artsy Gals if you didn’t get to hear about one or both of your hosts bleeding or getting glued to something, now would it? After getting through the gory yet somehow hilarious accounts of their scissor and knife mishaps, the gals talked about all of the cutty stabby things!

Here is a picture of the pile of cutty stabby wonderment Katie was referencing and showing Sharon while they talked.

And these are her favorites that she specifically talked about.

Sharon told us about her favorite Tim Holtz craft scissors and you can find those by following this link http://simonsaysstamp.com/product.aspx?id=141933.

And here is a link to Katie’s beloved Gingher Dressmakers Shears http://gingher.com/product/8in-knife-edge-dressmakers-shears/124/.

Both of The Gals mentioned embroidery scissors when discussing their arsenal of favorites. Katie’s are just like these but the handles of her have pretty flower pattern painted on them http://gingher.com/product/4-embroidery-chrome-finish/140/, and Sharon’s adorable Gold Stork Embroidery Scissors can be found here http://www.allstitch.net/product/312-gold-stork-scissors-1502.cfm.

We also heard several pairs of Fiskar craft and sewing scissors mentioned and you can look at the treasure trove of cutty stabby goodness they sell on their web page here http://www2.fiskars.com/.

For your utility knife needs you can check out the impressive collection at Harbor Freight Tools (the first one on this page is Katie’s absolute favorite tool for hollowing out books) http://www.harborfreight.com/catalogsearch/result?q=Utility+Knives.

And for light duty craft knives and intricate work, check out the must haves at X-Acto http://xacto.com/products/cutting-solutions/knives.aspx.

Lastly, Katie and Sharon talked a bit about scissor maintenance and repair; this is the Gingher article on the subject that was referenced during the show. It is a pretty helpful article and we recommend giving a read and bookmarking it for future reference http://www.gingher.us/Gingher_Maintenance.html.
