Katie is still scrambling to catch up on blog posts and podcast stuff after being down out with the shingles for the last couple of weeks but she is getting close! In the name of catching up, this is going to be another short and to the point post.

The Gal’s are obsessing about Granny Squares since Katie started working on the lap blanket she made for her Grandma for Christmas. Here are a couple of links about the history of Granny Squares (which is really pretty interesting).

And here is the episode Two Artsy Gals did about crochet and knitting a loooong time ago. https://twoartsygals.com/2014/10/02/lets-crochet-and-knit-some-shit/
Speaking of the afghan that Katie made her Grandma, here it is!
She got pattern for free on Repeat Crafter Me (which is a great resource for free, adorable crochet patterns). http://www.repeatcrafterme.com/2012/11/owl-granny-square-crochet-pattern.html
This pattern does not include instructions on how to sew the squares together so here are a couple of links to tutorials on how to do so. Katie prefers the method shown in the first video but some of you may feel more comfortable using a different method.
Do you crochet awesome granny squares? Send us pictures and tell us all about them! You can email The Gals at twoartsygals@gmail.com. Next week we will be back to talk about folded book art, so until then… make some cool shit, yo!
